Crappie Fishing Season

The reason that crappie fishing season is popular because crappie are typically considered game fish by the parks and wildlife associations and can therefore not be sold in supermarkets as food. Unfortunately, it takes time and conviction to become a crappie angler because of the areas of a lake that just be fished. Most of the season, you’ll be trolling through shallow waters filled with grass, seeking out schools of crappie in the thick cover. For many, the idea of taking a boat through grass is not pleasant, and others are put off simply by the idea of searching miles and miles of grass for the fish. However, if you learn what to do and become familiar with the waters, you will learn to love crappie fishing. It can be a very relaxing and extremely fulfilling experience when done correctly. And because there are so many lakes fruitful with an excellent crappie population, you are bound to find a lake or river that you really enjoy fishing. If you’ve never been before, make your first outing during the height of crappie fishing season to assure that you’ll have a successful experience and be ready to go back for more.
