First, you will need to find all of the supplies you will need to hand tie your own Crappie jigs. Typically, your local fishing tackle store, or outdoors store will have the items you will need.

When you tie the nylon jig hair, you will want to make it as tight as possible. Remember, your jigs may not look like their professional counterparts, but they will catch fish!

No, tying your own Crappie jigs do not cause any type of magic or extra interest, but instead causes you to be less cautious. When buying Crappie jigs from the store, you are acutely aware of the amount of money you have spent on them, and are in turn much more careful when fishing in areas that could cause you to lose them. Once you start tying your Own Crappie jigs, you will realize that it is a much cheaper option then buying them pre made. You will be less scared to cast your jig into heavy cover such as weeds, logs, rocks, and roots. Since Crappie like cover, you are more likely to catch fish if you are not scared to cast into it.
