If you want to get the most money out of your boat it will be a good idea to have it ready to go fishing. Make sure the motor has been serviced and is in good running order. Any pumps for live wells, lights, electronics, etc need to be working. The trailer will need to be ready to have tags and insurance put on by the new owner without having to spend a day fixing lights and rusted wheel bearings. If interested people are looking at several boats for sale in the area it may be worth the extra amount to buy the one that is ready to go without having to do alot of maintenance. You will also want to make the boat look appealing by cleaning it up and fixing torn carpet if it has carpet or fixing worn seats. Try not to spend a bundle and if you run into any expense list it and try to get that money back.
