What are the best crappie fishing

What are the best crappie fishing “how to” books out there?

Abundant opportunity for crappie fishing exists in Kentucky at various lakes and impoundments.  Here are some of the major areas in which you could test your skills and catch your limit:

·                     Just southeast of Farmers, Kentucky, Cave Run Lake is located in the north-east part of Kentucky.

·                     On the border of Kentucky and Tennessee, just about five miles south-west of Albany,  Dale Hollow Lake is found in the south-central part of Kentucky.

·                     Between Burgin and Bryantsville, Herrington Lake is in the central part of Kentucky.

·                     4 miles south-west of Glasgow, Barren River Lake is located in the south-central region of Kentucky.

·                     Approximately two miles south of Campbellsville, Green River Lake is in the central part of Kentucky.

·                     between Jamestown and Monticello, Lake Cumberland is in the south-central portion of Kentucky.

·                     In between Bee Spring and Cub Run, Nolin River Lake is in the west-central part of Kentucky.

·                     In the north-east part of the state, Yatesville Lake is located in Adams, Kentucky.

·                     In the north-central part of Kentucky, you will find Taylorsville Lake at Taylorsville.

·                     Located in the west-central part of the state, Rough River Lake is found in Falls Of Rough.

·                     Located in the south-west part of the Kentucky, Lake Barkley is a good fishing spot at Grand Rivers.

·                     And, last but not least, Kentucky Lake is in the south-west part of Kentucky at Grand Rivers.

Crappie fishing is certainly at its finest on Kentucky Lake.  Crappies at two pounds are common, and averages are usually in the pound and a half range.  The single best time to crappie fish on Kentucky Lake is during the spawn of spring.
