Crappie Fishing Oklahoma

Now that you know the technique and that there are many great crappie to be found in the great state of Oklahoma, where are some of the hottest stops for crappie fishing? While it can vary from year to year and even with the seasons, here are some known locations that make great crappie fishing in Oklahoma:

Big Lake Eufaula- this lake is 102,000 surface acres of greatOklahoma crappie fishing area. The lake is so large that fishermen have noted that fish in the northern areas of Big Lake Eufaula act differently than fish in the southern areas of the lake. Most people find success with fishing in brush areas of 10 to 20 feet of water although sometimes the crappie may be found in deeper areas and very large crappie have been found in the lake in the past. In addition, the lake also has fish-attracting shelters which are marked by buoys to make it easier to find them. Some of the marked areas and sections of the lake are in Mill Creek, Longtown Creek, Gaines Creek, Deep Fork, Coon Creek and Belle Starr.

Lake Keystone- This 23,600 acre lake is 15 miles from Tulsa and is a great spot for crappie fishing at different times throughout the year.Lake Keystone has many rocky shores that make for great crappie hotspots around brush pile up. January, February and early March are popular times for fishing in Lake Keystone and many anglers have reported great results using tightlined minnows or jigs.

Kaw Lake- This lake is located on the Arkansas River near Ponca Cityand has a reputation for catching larger than average crappie.

Grand Lake- This is another popular crappie fishing lake. This 46,500 acre lake also has many indoor and outdoor fishing docks for your convenience.

Broken Bow- This 14,200 acre lake off the Mountain Fork River is another great crappie option with deep waters and rocky shorelines.

This list is not exhaustive of course, as there are many more great places you can find for crappie fishing in Oklahoma but this is a great list to get you started if you’re interested in finding some of the bestOklahoma crappie fishing spots around.
